Colored Wire
12 Gauge Aluminum Wire has become a very popular product with florists and jewelry crafters. The colors are so fun and the medium is easy to work with. This new material produces glorious projects limited only by the imagination. Just the other day, we noticed this magazine cover in the supermarket! Cool, hunh? I would really love to see photos of the jewelry our customers are creating. Please send me photos and I will post them online... I'll even give you recognition and a link to your store or website if you'd like! Just in the past month, we've begun to experience some difficulty getting and keeping certain colors in stock, namely Silver and Turquoise. Our supplier, Smithers Oasis has been experiencing the same problem--and it flows down the supply chain. I try very hard to update the descriptions of each color to show which ones we are out of at any given time. Further, I email newsletter subscribers when they come back into stock. On the plus side, the folks at Smithers promise us four new colors this month! Tangerine, Light Blue, Lavender and Rose. We have begun to investigate new sources and learned that there are several out there for Aluminum Wire. We recently received a small shipment from Premier Sydell of Gold and Fuchsia. They are now listed. Having seen them myself, I feel they are a very close substitute for Smithers Gold and Strong Pink as far as color goes. The Fuchsia is slightly more purple than Strong Pink... but not much. We have had at least one complaint that the quality and consistency are not as good as Smithers Oasis, so I do recommend, if you are going to use the wire for jewerly, stick to the Smithers Oasis brand.
